Bringing the Indoors Out: Outdoor Lighting & Fire – 6 week summer series

Aug 17, 2015

Interior design and decorating for outdoors part 5 of my 6 week summer series – today I will cover outdoor lighting, fire pits and fireplaces.  There are 3 basic forms of lighting: task, ambient and accent. For outdoor this can be to light pathways and plants, or to provide lighting to cook by, or lighting that creates warmth. Task lighting is critical near the grill so you can make sure your chicken isn’t raw in the middle. Halogen lamps are small and stand up to higher temperatures, which make them perfect for outdoor cooking areas. free movie down load site . If you have a ceiling over your outdoor area you can add fans and can lights.

Bring a little Tuscany to your yard – use exposed bulbs on wire. Some yards are perfectly suited for string lights – be sure to get ones rated for outdoor use. I have this in my yard on a dimmer so we can turn them up for eating after the sun goes down or turn them really low for our outdoor movie nights.

Of course, everybody’s favorite lighting is lighting from a fire – fireplace or fire pit, it doesn’t matter, you can make s’mores at either. Wood or gas burning provide a place to congregate and stay warm on cooler nights.
