Midcentury Remodel + Landscape Design
These homeowners had gone through a remodel prior to moving in 25 years ago and felt their aestetic was ignored, being 8 months pregnant the homeowner didn’t have the energy to stand up for what she wanted and lived with a home that didn’t reflect her for years. When we first met we worked on furnishings. Three kids and a dog later they came back to me to do more. They were ready to make the home feel more “them”. This Midcentury remodel was completed in phases. It started with the fireplace that was not centered in the room making furniture placement awkward. Together with the clients we reimagined the whole room by redesigning the fireplace wall. Phase 2 was a refresh of the main living area including redesigning the kitchen so that it reflected their midcentury aesthetic. We decided tile floor would hold up to this active family including skateboarding in the house.
